When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Contact Forms

If you fill in a contact form on our site we do not retain any personal data on this site. Your name, email address and any other information that you enter is emailed directly to our staff and is not stored online on any publicly accessible site or shared with any third party.


A few things on our website don’t work properly without strictly necessary cookies. They’re always on when you visit us.

Apart form that we do not use any preference tracking, performance or advertising cookies, and we also don’t actively employ any third party cookies.

How do I control my cookies and tracking?

Under EU law (GDPR) we would need to explicitly ask for your permission if we intend to process or reuse any of your data, i.e. for marketing, or if we allow any third party to do so. We don’t do any of that, which is why you didn’t see an ‘allow cookies’ popup or checkbox when you first visited the site.

You can switch off or disable all cookies but it might mean that some parts of this site don’t work as they should for you.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
